My decorating philosophy – is simple, express the style you love. Your home should be ALL about you, let what you love live there and love where you live. You don’t have to worry about not being able to use what you already own; I think outside the room and repurpose items using creative design solutions. I don’t like to tell my clients what to buy, I prefer to work with what you like, items that are of interest to you that reflect your style and taste.
I believe everyone should have benefit from consulting with a design professional. Having a well decorated home does not have to cost a lot of money because “It’s not what you have but how you arrange it!”
After many years of “hobby” decorating, altered INTERIORS came to be. I earned my Interior Decorator certification and certifications for Real Estate Staging and Interior ReDesign. I have studied and trained extensively specializing in window treatments, carpet, lighting and design. As a 2011 Certified Hunter Douglas Professional Dealer, I can offer you the latest knowledge for specialized window coverings.
I returned to Texas, Dallas and Fort Worth (DFW Metroplex) over 20 years ago after living in San Antonio, Conroe, Albuquerque, Chicago, Southern California, Cincinnati, and the east coast.
My free time is filled with Ginger, my dog, and parrot, Squeaky, shopping, remodeling my own home (which you can follow in my blog). As an active member of the Mid-Cities Pacesetters Rotary club volunteering at the Village Library and delivering Meals-on-Wheels are included.
Being a fan of Continuing Education I was thrilled when I was invited to teach interior decorating classes through local school districts.
Travel is my favorite. I have been to 48 of the 50 states including Hawaii, and visited 12 countries. My other favorite is my son (!) a Corporal in the US Marine Corps, recently returned from Afghanistan.
I feel blessed and privileged that I am able to do what I absolutely love and that in my own way I make a difference in the world and peoples' lives.
